Program Introduction

This major is one of the key supported areas in the national strategic emerging industry—information network industry. Relying on a national first-class discipline, national and provincial extracurricular practice bases for college students, and two provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers (Information and Electronic Engineering Experimental Center and Computer Science and Technology Experimental Center), the major focuses on cultivating students with the following capabilities: mastering technologies such as embedded sensing and communication, intelligent information processing, and system integration development; being able to analyze and solve complex system problems in the field of Internet of Things (IoT) applications, such as smart health and wellness and smart cities; possessing good communication skills, teamwork, and application innovation capabilities; having an international perspective, a sense of social responsibility, and professional ethics; and being competent in IoT hardware technical support, embedded development, system architecture design, system integration, and management. Graduates will have the awareness and ability for independent and lifelong learning, and they will be able to adapt to the progress of new-generation intelligent IoT technologies and the development needs of the IoT industry.

Employment Prospects: After graduation, students can work in research institutions, enterprises, and public institutions, especially in the field of information technology, such as smart health and wellness and smart cities, to engage in the development and technical management of IoT application systems. They can also be involved in the research and development and technical management of information network systems in the fields of computer applications and communications. For further education, students can pursue advanced studies in computer science and technology, software engineering, information and communication engineering, control science and engineering, and other related fields.
